Great triumphs and challenges for our GBKids competition team at this years prestigious BJJ British Open.

Tough matches for all our competitors, drawing current champions, difficult referee decisions and fatigue. And although no gold medals this time the progress in their Jiujitsu, resilience and heart shone through as each of our champions displayed exceptional behaviour and demeanour – all proving they carry Gracie Barra’s values. Some tears and frustration but smiles and reflection prevailed overall with everyone walking away positive and all straight back on the mat first lesson back.

Silver for Harley, Bronze for Hanisha and Bronze for Savraj. All hard fought medals, physically and mentally. With the most difficult decision to accept was Ethan’s first round stoppage via a very early referee call – frustrated and heartbroken this exceptional young man sucked it up and moved on – the approach and attitude worth more than ten gold medals.

We are really proud of our GBKids competitors. Really proud.
